Nine members attended the last meeting on Saturday, February 7th at the "Garden Cafe" at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis. Our display at the Missouri Orchid Society's show was a great success and won second place for overall display! In spite of leftover snow and really cold temperatures, Howard and Laura got the plants to the show and Nick got them back without a single bloom or leaf turning brown. Nick met them there with more plants (one of which was awarded!!). Many thanks to Howard Wilson, Nicholas Krekeler, and Gertrude Stawski for providing plants and to Barbara Giles for providing the decorative greenery and black cloths! Rumor has it that if Howard and Gertrude had entered their plants in the "no cost" judging category, they each would have won a ribbon!
