Twenty one people attended the meeting on September 14, 2003 at the Boone Electric Community Room. There was one guest, Eric Feren, Conrad's son. Mona Laird, Howard Wilson and Conrad Feren brought plants for show and tell. Many thanks to Tom & Barbara Bogard and Ray Rapplean and Leeta Lumpkins for providing snacks.

Louis Holroyd and Howard Wilson gave a very informative talk on what light is, how it works, how to choose light bulbs, how to measure it with a light meter and light and other interesting facts.

The next meeting will be Sunday, October 12 at 4:00 at the Boone Electric Community Room, 1413 Rangeline Street. Boone Electric is located on the west side of Rangeline, halfway between Bus. Loop 70 and I-70. Park on the north side of the building and enter through the northeast door.

In preparation for the November Meeting at Windy Hill we are having a slide show on SLIPPER ORCHIDS IN THE TRUFORD GREENHOUSE by Trudi & Fordyce "Red" Marsh This program on Paphiopedlum species can be shown with two projectors; one showing the plant, the other a close-up of the flower. (180 slides) This is from the Orchid Digest.

Please bring your blooming plants for show and tell, but also bring an assortment of your slippers (paths & phrags) both blooming and not, so the rest of the club can see what the plants look like and how you are caring for them.
